In a medals award ceremony recently organised by the Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, (BIEK), Alay Murtaza Naqvi, Principal, Aga Khan Higher Secondary School (AKHSS), Karachi, was awarded 'Best Principal Awards' for three Groups, namely Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering and Commerce, for the year 2002. This was the fourth consecutive (BIEK) award for Naqvi as Principal of AKMSS, Karachi.

The Aga Klan Higher Secondary School, Karachi, provides its student with academic excellence and an environment conducive to teaching and learning. Since its inception in 1995, over 2300 students have graduated from AKHSS, and the school has successfully paved the way for these students to continue their higher studies in leading institutions in Pakistan and abroad.

Admissions for the year 2005 are to open in April. The Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan (AKESP) has successfully established a network of Higher Secondary Schools across Pakistan ensuring that each of these schools stands as an icon of academic and architectural excellence in their respective regions. The network includes Aga Khan Higher Secondary Schools in Karachi, Gilgit, Hunza and Gahkuch. As part of the network of Higher Secondary Schools, AKHSS Karachi, which has been the recipient of Board of Intermediate, Karachi's 'Best College of the Year' award for the last four consecutive years, proudly bears the responsibility of being the flagship institution emulated by other schools within this network.
